What is a Firehouse Primary?
A firehouse primary is a primary election run by a political party, not the state. The upcoming Virginia primary determines the Democratic and Republican nominees for the special election of U.S. House Representative from the 11th Congressional District. Voters can cast their ballot to select the nominee for the party they identify with.

- Bring a valid photo ID to cast your ballot, such as a driver’s license, passport, or student ID
- If you are in line before polls closing, stay in line!
