In memory of Johnnie Dee Giles (1961–2025), former chair of APIAVote, the Johnnie Dee Giles Memorial Fund continues his commitment to strengthening AAPI representation and civic engagement through funding critical research on the long-overlooked AAPI electorate. He believed that data and storytelling could help people see our strength and hear our voice. Johnnie secured initial funding from Comcast for APIAVote’s first Asian American Voter Survey in 2012. Johnnie also championed the use of research to shape authentic narratives of the AAPI community. In his memory, this fund will continue the work he cared deeply about—advancing research and storytelling that elevate AAPI experiences, inform the public, and strengthen our democracy.
