Absentee Voting
No excuse is needed to vote absentee in Nebraska.
Early Voting
Anyone may apply for an Early Voting ballot in Nebraska — you do not need a reason or excuse to vote early. You can apply for an Early Voting ballot by contacting your County Clerk or Election Commissioner by mail, fax, in-person at their office, or by a personal agent. The last day to request an Early Voting ballot to be mailed to you is the 4 PM on the Wednesday prior to Election Day. All Early Voting ballots must be received by the County Clerk or Election Commissioner by the close of polls on Election Day.
What to Expect
on Election Day
On Election Day, polls are open from 8 AM to 8 PM in the Central Time Zone and from 7 AM to 7 PM in the Mountain Time Zone.
Voter ID Requirements
Only first-time voters who registered without providing ID will be asked to show ID at the polls.
Language Access
Section 203 of the Voting Rights Act requires certain jurisdictions to provide in-language voting materials in areas with a significant number of limited English proficient voters.
Section 208
Section 208 of the Voting Rights Act states that, “Any voter who requires assistance to vote by reason of blindness, disability, or inability to read or write may be given assistance by a person of the voter’s choice, other than the voter’s employer or agent of the employer or office or agent of the voter’s union.”
It is your right to bring your own interpreter to the polls, if you so choose.
