Volunteers are essential to sustaining many of our outreach programs and initiatives. If you are looking for an opportunity to make an impact in your community during an election, or throughout the year, we welcome you to join our national corps of volunteers. Here are a few opportunities for you to consider:
888-API-VOTE is a hotline offering assistance to voters in 8 Asian languages! We need volunteers ASAP to assist voters with their questions.
Volunteer shifts are 4 hours each and fairly easy. Simply keep your computer open in the background as you go about your day. Once you hear a chime, you know there’s a voter who needs your help.
Volunteers are encouraged to sign up for multiple shifts. Once you sign up, we will reach out to you to get you trained.
Sign up for a shift in any of the following languages: English, Tagalog, Mandarin, Cantonese, Bengali, Hindi/Urdu, Korean, Vietnamese
Volunteer phone bankers and text bankers help us communicate directly with millions of AAPIs across the country to get them educated, prepared and motivated to vote, participate in the political process, and get vaccinated!
Help empower AAPIs this November! Sign up for a phonebanking shift here.
TRANSLATION SERVICE – We want to make sure that every voter is informed and empowered to cast their vote, no matter what their primary language is. APIAVote strives to make materials on voter registration, the election process, voting rights and education readily available to all by translating them into Asian and Pacific Islander languages. Volunteers who can assist in translating for a specific language are needed.
MIS- AND DIS-INFORMATION MONITORS – Help us combat disinformation and misinformation in the AAPI community. As part of a broader coalition, volunteers will be part of a team that monitors, identifies and inoculates misleading and untruthful information on social media and the web as it relates to voting, elections and other issues impacting AAPIs.
